About the position

The AWS Databricks Solutions Architect is responsible for delivering effective solutions across application and infrastructure platforms, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture standards. This role involves collaborating with Enterprise Architects to define the enterprise vision, designing application-level architectures, and advocating for new technologies that support business and IT requirements. The position requires a strong focus on solution design, architecture blueprints, and data flow diagrams, with a significant emphasis on application development and database design.

Responsibilities

• Deliver appropriate solutions across application or infrastructure platforms
• Assist Enterprise Architects in defining enterprise vision
• Define and enforce application development standards across the enterprise
• Ensure solutions designed adhere to enterprise architecture standards
• Stay up to date on platform, infrastructure/application development technologies and capabilities
• Expert in application development, database design, and/or platform efforts
• Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure solutions mitigate identified risks and meet business objectives
• Communicate risks and solutions to cross functional key stakeholders
• Research, design, and advocate new technologies, architectures, and products
• Evaluate and develop application level architectures for application development
• Develop a reliable, top performing and cost-effective platform architecture
• Lead the development and maintenance of the platform strategy and architecture
• Organize the development effort and provide motivation to the development team
• Responsible for the vision that underlies the solution and its execution
• Look after the programming, integration, and testing of software systems
• Select the most appropriate technology for a problem, balancing architectural concerns with enterprise concerns
• Responsible for how technology can solve business problems and how applications will scale and be maintained

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• 10 or more years of work experience in IT with exposure to different platforms and technologies
• Expert knowledge of solution/application development issues and techniques
• Broad experience with multiple platform environments for enterprise-level design
