About the position

The AWS DevOps Engineer position at Diverse Lynx LLC is a critical role that requires expert knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a strong background in DevOps practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for provisioning and managing AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, and VPC, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. This role demands a deep understanding of Kubernetes and Docker architecture, as well as hands-on experience with deploying and upgrading mission-critical applications on Kubernetes clusters. In addition to technical skills, the position requires strong operational experience in a Linux/Unix environment and proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Shell and Python. The AWS DevOps Engineer will participate in architectural discussions to ensure that solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. Furthermore, the role involves implementing industry-standard security and compliance practices for Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS environments. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, as the candidate will need to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Candidates with AWS certification are preferred, and those without certification are expected to obtain it shortly after joining the company. This position is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and requires on-site presence.

Responsibilities

  • Provision and manage AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, and VPC using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Deploy and upgrade mission-critical applications on Kubernetes clusters.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Implement industry-standard security and compliance practices for Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and project execution.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of AWS services including EB, EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Kubernetes, EKS, CloudFormation, and Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with provisioning and managing AWS services using IaC tools.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Docker architecture and associated tools.
  • Strong operational experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell and Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification after joining.
