About the position

The AWS DevSecOps Engineer, Lead is responsible for spearheading security efforts within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect projects and infrastructure while guiding a team dedicated to security best practices. The engineer will integrate security practices across the DevSecOps lifecycle, design secure infrastructure solutions using AWS and Azure, and ensure compliance with industry standards and governmental regulations. The position also includes mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations early in project development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps lifecycle.
  • Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts.
  • Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for sensitive data protection.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits, providing recommendations for security controls.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on security, advising on threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Mentor and develop a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with computer industry security and identity in a large enterprise.
  • 5+ years of experience in a security architect role.
  • Experience engineering, deploying, and operating tools for large organizations, including Splunk and Microsoft Security Suite.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access capabilities in an enterprise.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with government compliance, certification, and accreditation processes such as FedRAMP and NIST.
  • Experience leading security initiatives and teams in complex project environments.
  • Knowledge of network architecture, data protection, and application security.
  • Knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle.
  • Possession of CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other professional certifications.
