Our work depends on an AWS/Linux System Administrator joining our team to support a GDIT program that we are the prime on and is located at Annapolis Junction, MD. You will have the opportunity to modernize your skillsets in a dynamic team environment by working with up-and-coming technologies to include AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Kubernetes clusters on the systems, including all the ancillary management pieces such as Cloud Controller Provider, Elastic Block Store (EBS) Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver, and CNI Plugin. You will also be tasked with patching, upgrading, scanning, reporting, and remediation of vulnerabilities for the systems. Additionally, you will provide support to create and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) for the systems, and continuously monitor all systems using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, System Manager, and other Linux monitoring tools. This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph and a strong background in system administration, particularly in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and upgrading the Kubernetes clusters on the systems, including all ancillary management pieces.
  • Patching, upgrading, scanning, reporting, and remediation of vulnerabilities for the systems.
  • Providing support to create and maintain ATO for the systems.
  • Continuous monitoring of all systems using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, System Manager, and other Linux monitoring tools.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or 5 years of additional SA experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with System Administration in the cloud (deploying and operating services and applications in an Amazon AWS/C2S infrastructure environment).
  • Experience with System Administration for Linux (Red Hat and CentOS) and Windows/VMware.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience with Microservices architectures.
  • Experience with Network Information Service (NIS), Network File System (NFS), Domain Name System (DNS), and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
