About the position
As an AWS Network Engineer at TEKsystems, you will be an integral part of a rapidly growing security team dedicated to enhancing our customers' needs in a global environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with various internal teams, including operations support, hardware, software, and cloud engineering, to ensure the security of our products and both cloud and on-premise infrastructures. Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing robust network security measures that align with industry standards and best practices. In this position, you will leverage your extensive experience in network engineering and security to develop and maintain secure network infrastructures. You will be responsible for implementing cloud network security infrastructure services in AWS, focusing on monitoring, vulnerability management, and data protection. Your role will also involve analyzing network flow logs to identify potential security threats and ensure compliance with security audits. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest networking technologies and security protocols to effectively safeguard our systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in networking principles, including routing, MPLS, and VPNs, as well as a deep understanding of modern network security practices such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero trust architecture. You will also have hands-on experience with AWS services and tools, enabling you to create secure and efficient cloud environments. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal operations support teams to secure product and infrastructure.
- Design and implement cloud network security infrastructure services in AWS.
- Monitor network performance and manage vulnerabilities.
- Analyze network flow logs to identify security threats.
- Support security audits for network components and maintain logs and evidence of changes.
- Implement multi-tenant cloud environments and ensure network segmentation.
- Work with AWS services and tools to enhance network security.
Requirements
- BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience; MS degree is a plus.
- 4 to 6 years of experience with on-premise networking products (Cisco ASA, Firepower, ISE, Palo Alto).
- 4 to 6 years of experience in designing and implementing cloud network security infrastructure services in AWS.
- 2 years of experience analyzing network flow logs (NetFlow and VPC flow logs).
- Strong understanding of networking basics including routing, MPLS, and VPNs.
- Strong understanding of network security including modern firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero trust.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as VPC, CloudFront, and IAM.
- Experience supporting security audits for network components.
Nice-to-haves
- Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification.
- Palo Alto PNCSA, PNCSE, or PNCSC certification.
- AWS Certified Security Specialist.
- AWS Network Certification.
- Experience with Aviatrix.
- Scripting/automation experience.
