About the position

Our client, a leader in their industry, is seeking an AWS Solutions Architect for a 12-month contract position based in Charlotte, NC. This role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring the candidate to work onsite twice a week. The pay rate for this position ranges from $70 to $73 per hour on a W-2 basis. This contract consulting position offers a comprehensive benefits package for W-2 consultants, which includes medical, dental, vision, disability, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions. The AWS Solutions Architect will play a crucial role in accelerating the ability to build and migrate applications and workloads to AWS, collaborating with a team of Digital Solution architects and Centers of Practice/Excellence (CoP/CoE) within the client organization. The architect will be responsible for creating technical designs in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Application Product teams, and Infrastructure teams, providing technical leadership and guidance throughout the development, testing, and delivery phases of features.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate the ability to build and migrate applications and workloads to AWS.
• Work with a team of Digital Solution architects and Centers of Practice/Excellence (CoP/CoE) within the client.
• Architect and design artifacts across Cloud, Web, Mobile, AI, API, SaaS, and COTS products.
• Create technical designs in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Application Product teams, and Infrastructure teams.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance during the features' development, testing, and delivery phases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in AWS Cloud Engineering and/or Architecture.
• Experience helping product teams through cloud migrations using AWS technologies such as Terraform, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, EC2, EKS, and EMR.
• Strong background in architecting complex Big Data and AI/ML analytics product migrations to the cloud (AWS).
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects and advising teams on cloud migration projects.
• Expertise in multiple SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall.
