About the position

This role offers the unique opportunity to work with one of our Cloud Providers, AWS. You will lead and execute the technical strategy of the AWS partnership, collaborating across product, engineering, and field teams to build joint enterprise streaming solutions that highlight Confluent's unique features. You'll be a public advocate for AWS and Confluent, speaking at conferences, co-writing blogs, and much more! Successful Cloud Partner Solutions Engineers typically have backgrounds as developers, solution architects, technical account managers, or product specialists. However, they all share a passion for expanding Confluent's partner ecosystem and delivering our customers the best of that world. In this role, you will drive the technical strategy between AWS and Confluent, build and maintain relationships with AWS Product and Sales leadership, and influence priorities inside Confluent.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with the AWS Engineering, Product, and Technical Sales teams.
  • Build and maintain Confluent technical sponsors at AWS.
  • Create and drive the global technical strategy for the Partner account.
  • Work with AWS to build differentiated solutions and offerings that include Confluent Technology.
  • As Confluent's AWS expert, you'll work across teams at Confluent to drive new integration initiatives, sales programs, and product improvements.
  • Author whitepapers, technical articles, and blog posts.
  • Deeply understand the suite of products and capabilities within AWS.
  • Represent Confluent at select in-person conferences.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of AWS strategy, products, organizational and operating models.
  • Experience building and maintaining executive relationships with Technical Teams at partner organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise solutions for customers and partners on AWS.
  • Experience as a Technical Sales/Systems Engineer in a cloud environment or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience designing and building big data, stream processing, and other distributed systems for Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Experience with messaging, streaming, and ETL products commonly used in the enterprise.
  • Experience authoring, presenting, and delivering technical material.
  • Experience operating within and across cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, marketing, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on identifying shared business value around complex software solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions.
  • At least two associate-level AWS certifications or one professional or specialty certification.
