About the position

The Digital Marketing Specialist position at Bridgewater State University (BSU) is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in hands-on experience within the realm of digital marketing. This role is part of a small, dynamic team of student employees dedicated to producing and sharing visual content through the College's social media channels, specifically for the Bartlett College of Science & Mathematics (COSM). The successful candidate will have the chance to contribute to various marketing and communication campaigns that support the College's mission and its seven academic departments, as well as initiatives from the Center for Advancement of STEM Education (CASE), the BSU Observatory, and the BSU MakerSpace. In this role, candidates will be expected to leverage their expertise in one or more areas, including social media management, videography and/or audio production, and graphic design. The digital content created will not only enhance the visibility of the College but also engage the community and promote educational initiatives. While onboarding and ongoing guidance will be provided by the Dean's office staff, candidates should be prepared to contribute immediately and thrive in a flexible work environment that encourages creativity and collaboration. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about digital marketing and have a strong interest in visual content creation. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive environment while making a meaningful impact on the College's outreach efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and create content for the College's social media channels.
  • Produce visual content including videos and graphics to support marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and other initiatives within the College.
  • Assist in digital asset management and ensure content is up-to-date and relevant.
  • Stay informed about social media trends and platform functionalities to enhance engagement.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in social media management, videography, audio production, or graphic design.
  • Basic knowledge of visual content types and social media trends.
  • Declared majors or minors in the Bartlett College of Science & Mathematics preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with animation and advanced graphic design techniques.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $15.00 to $18.00 depending on experience.
