About the position

AYO! CHOP is a newly established independent production company seeking talented freelance editors from across the United States to collaborate on a variety of upcoming projects. These projects will encompass music videos, brand commercials, and experimental short films. The company is looking for innovative individuals who are willing to collaborate on edits, preferably using editing software that allows for multiple collaborators to view an edit-in-progress. This is an exciting opportunity for editors who thrive in a creative environment and are eager to contribute their unique skills to diverse projects. The role of the Video Editor is crucial as each project will require a different approach and style. Editors are encouraged to think outside the box and employ various editing techniques such as fast-cutting, mask edits, and the integration of multimedia and 3D animation, provided these methods are planned and sensible for the project at hand. The company values creativity and adaptability, understanding that each editor's particular strengths will be utilized according to the specific needs of the project. This position is work-from-home, allowing for flexibility while contributing to exciting creative endeavors.

Responsibilities

• Edit and assist in the editing of commercials, short films, documentaries, television, feature films, and music videos.
• Collaborate with other creatives and crew members on edits in progress.
• Employ innovative editing techniques such as fast-cutting, mask edits, and multimedia integration as appropriate for each project.
• Adapt editing style and techniques based on the specific requirements of each project.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in editing or assisting editing for commercials, short films, documentaries, television, feature films, or music videos.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Suite, and Adobe After Effects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with 3D animation and advanced editing techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
