We are currently seeking an Azure Administrator with SQL DBA Skills to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring that our virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components are provisioned, configured, and monitored effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure administration, particularly with Windows virtual machines, and will be responsible for performing regular OS and security patching, backups, and disaster recovery for Azure resources. Additionally, the role requires troubleshooting and maintenance of Azure services to ensure high availability and performance. As an Azure Administrator, you will also be expected to have expertise in SQL Server Database Administration, including managing SQL Server on virtual machines, Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instances. Your responsibilities will include providing Azure storage management and supporting Azure virtual desktop infrastructure. Security is a key aspect of this role; you will need to set up and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Key Vault, and ensure compliance with data encryption and security protocols. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be involved in DevOps processes, managing CI/CD pipelines for Azure applications, and providing performance monitoring through Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Network Watcher. You will also be responsible for setting up automated alerts based on pre-configured rules and thresholds, ensuring that any incidents are responded to promptly. The position requires support for 24x7 operations, including incident response and issue resolution, making it essential for the candidate to be proactive and responsive to operational needs.
