About the position

As a technical lead, you will be primarily responsible for leading the data engineering solutions in Azure and/or any other ancillary cloud technologies. In this role, you will be working very closely with Project Stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams. You will serve as a technical expert for designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining the data needs of the organization, while also driving continuous improvements in the deployment and consumption of data. This position offers a dynamic mix of hands-on technical work and opportunities to showcase your leadership skills. You will need a blend of superb problem-solving and innovation skills to resolve a wide variety of technical challenges. Collaboration with stakeholders and solution architects who thrive on innovation will be key, as they will ensure ample room for innovation on every project you are involved in. Your responsibilities will include acting as a lead to design, develop, implement, document, and maintain cloud-hosted data and analytics services in Azure and/or any other ancillary cloud technologies. You will assist in designing and developing solutions for the migration of on-premise data stores to cloud-based technologies. As the hands-on technical expert, you will provide support for on-premise and cloud data infrastructure issues. Additionally, you will develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines, leveraging Azure DevOps or other similar tools. Implementing and maintaining data security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and company standards and regulations will also be part of your role. You will promote and drive technical agility by collaborating with development teams, other internal teams, and vendor teams to ensure that the cloud infrastructure meets the growing needs of the organization. Evaluating and recommending configurations, defining requirements, capacities, and capabilities to meet user needs while adhering to technical standards will be essential. You will coordinate with downstream and upstream teams, including onshore/offshore vendor teams, and develop skills in additional cloud-based technologies to provide solutions to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead to design, develop, implement, document, and maintain cloud-hosted data and analytics services in Azure and/or any other ancillary cloud technologies.
• Assist in design and develop solutions for migration of on-premise data stores to cloud-based technologies.
• Act as the hands-on technical expert to provide support for on-premise and cloud data infrastructure issues.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines, leveraging Azure DevOps or other similar tools.
• Implement and maintain data security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards and regulations.
• Promote and drive technical agility by collaborating with development teams, other internal teams, and vendor teams to ensure cloud infrastructure meets the growing needs of the organization.

Requirements

• Overall, 15+ years of experience, with 5+ of experience in Cloud engineering roles, with Azure cloud experience a must.
• Extensive experience in technologies around databases, data warehouses, data pipelines and ETL/ELT.
• Must have had enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management.
• Ability to evaluate design architecture and enhance system performance by bringing in best practices.
• Certifications: DP-203 - Microsoft Data Engineer Associate is required; AZ-305 - Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
• Proficiency in designing solutions for and implementing Data Warehousing projects in Azure Data Factory/Synapse/Databricks along with other Azure services (Event Grid/Logic Apps etc.).
• Proficient in automation and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Good understanding of Cloud networking (VM's, Load Balancers and Firewall, etc.) security (Network Security Groups, Security Center, Secret storage etc.) and other Azure services.
• Strong understanding of Agile and development methodologies and DevOps principles.
• Good communication skills with respect to coordinating with various stakeholders, vendors and other technical teams.
• Must have expertise to understand the business context behind technical initiatives and deliver accordingly.
