Candidates must be prepared to work 100% onsite at the client's location in Tallahassee, FL. The job requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows server administration and at least 3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Linux servers. Additionally, proficiency in PowerShell scripting is essential, as the role involves writing, testing, and executing scripts to automate tasks and manage resources effectively. The position also requires familiarity with Active Directory and DNS administration in an enterprise environment, particularly one with over 1,000 users. The Azure Cloud Engineer/Administrator will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes that optimize Azure resources, analyzing performance metrics to recommend changes or upgrades, and managing Microsoft Entra ID activities. The role also includes creating and maintaining technical documentation, standards, and procedures, as well as assisting users with application access and inventory management on Azure resources. This position is critical for ensuring that the cloud infrastructure supports the organization's needs while adhering to best practices and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain processes that optimize Microsoft Azure resources.
  • Analyze Azure resource performance to identify resource contention and recommend changes or upgrades as needed to ensure optimization.
  • Perform Microsoft Entra ID management activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation.
  • Work with data center staff, OIT, and users to perform Azure resource deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Inventory, document, install, and maintain applications on Azure resources and assist users with access.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows server issues with minimal impact on users.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Windows server administering experience.
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Azure or Cloud experience.
  • 3+ years of Linux server experience.
  • 5+ years of Active Directory and/or Domain Name System (DNS) administration experience.
  • Experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
  • Professional IT certifications such as Microsoft MCSA or MCSE, HPE ASE or Master ASE, VMware VCP, Fortinet NSE.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, or Ruby.
