About the position

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming clinical credentialing by contributing to the development of a secure and trusted digital marketplace. This marketplace will facilitate the buying and selling of verified credentials for healthcare and other professional organizations. We are a fully funded start-up looking for a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our initial team. This position is structured as a 3-month contract, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role. The interview process is streamlined, consisting of just 1-2 steps, allowing for a quick onboarding process for the right candidate. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the securing, deploying, scaling, and optimization of cloud-based applications within a Microsoft Azure environment. You will collaborate closely with the software development team to manage code and assist in building and deploying new releases. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing corporate security policies and interacting with clients and partners during platform security reviews. Your expertise will be crucial in managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines, deploying and debugging cloud initiatives, and actively monitoring and troubleshooting production environments. You will also be expected to recommend upgrades or downgrades of cloud services based on continuous cost/benefit analysis, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure remains efficient and cost-effective.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the securing, deploying, scaling, and optimization of cloud-based applications in a Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
  • Assist the software development team in managing code and building/deploying new releases.
  • Develop corporate security policies.
  • Interact with clients and partners during platform security reviews.
  • Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed, following best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Actively monitor and troubleshoot production environments.
  • Recommend upgrades or downgrades of cloud services based on continuous cost/benefit analysis.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or similar role in cloud computing.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with deploying and managing applications in Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
