About the position

The Azure IaaS Engineer position is a hybrid remote role focused on architecting and managing cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure. The engineer will be responsible for designing robust IaaS solutions, optimizing cloud resources, automating infrastructure tasks, and troubleshooting technical issues. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud computing principles and a passion for staying updated with the latest Azure technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Azure IaaS solutions, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure resources, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks using scripting and automation tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Azure IaaS.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies and trends, recommending improvements to our infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven experience with Azure IaaS services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud computing principles and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for cloud technologies and a desire to learn and grow.
• Ability to obtain suitability clearance.
• BA/BS + 8 years of applicable experience.
• 5 or more years of relevant Microsoft Azure IaaS engineering and support.
• ITIL Foundation certification (not required to start but expected to attain in first six months).
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems deployed in Azure (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
• Strong scripting and PowerShell skills.
• Experience building, configuring, and hardening Windows servers.
• Experience managing the Azure platform using Intune.
• Advanced experience with Azure Active Directory management & administration.
• Ability to deploy and manage IaaS resources via Terraform (Infrastructure as code).
