The Azure Cloud Engineer position is a remote contractor role based in the United States, focusing on leveraging cloud technologies to enhance organizational efficiency and security. The role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure and related cloud products, as well as experience with various Microsoft server environments. The engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing cloud solutions, ensuring optimal performance, and providing support for cloud-based applications and services. This position also involves working with backup and recovery solutions, particularly Veeam, to safeguard data integrity and availability. In addition to cloud management, the Azure Cloud Engineer will utilize their expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy to manage user access and security policies effectively. The role demands proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management tasks. The engineer will also be expected to monitor system performance using tools like Microsoft SCOM and SCCM, ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently. Networking skills are essential, as the engineer will need to configure and troubleshoot network settings, including DHCP and DNS, to maintain connectivity and performance across cloud and on-premises environments.
