About the position

The Azure Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of high availability enterprise solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure. This role involves proactive system administration, technical efficiency tuning, and automation tasks to ensure optimal performance and compliance with IT policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of high availability enterprise solutions using MS Azure.
• Conduct proactive system administration, monitoring, and technical efficiency tuning.
• Build and set up new development tools to improve automation and code deployment, focusing on Azure operations.
• Administer Azure SQL Database services.
• Take ownership of the diagnosis and issue resolution process, providing workarounds or escalation as necessary.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and software application solutions using Azure Web Services, Monitor, and Application Insights.
• Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Comply with IT and Information Security policies and procedures, assisting with audit requests.
• Manage domains and Active Directory using Azure AD.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in enterprise technical systems administration and implementation.
• 4+ years experience in enterprise Azure cloud.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with demonstrable Azure platform and portal experience.
• Strong operational background in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in backup management, high availability configuration, and security patch management.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure cloud native and New Relic.
• Experience with SQL Availability Groups is highly desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in an Azure environment, particularly with application servers and databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Fresh Services.
• Knowledge of automated DevOps activities, concepts, and toolsets.
• Good database skills including the use of Azure SQL and associated database management tools.
• Good technical networking skills, including subnetting, addressing, and VPN.
