About the position

The Senior Staff Azure Cloud Systems Engineer will collaborate with the team to support various IT systems and services, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure primarily on Azure. This full-time, on-site role in Secaucus, NJ, requires technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple IT platforms in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects by engineering new systems and solutions.
  • Monitor the performance of critical servers and applications to ensure optimal operation.
  • Manage load configurations, recommend hardware purchases or upgrades, and fine-tune software for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with and manage third-party vendors to expedite issue resolution.
  • Design and deploy architecture and applications using appropriate cloud services based on customer requirements or guidance from Solutions Architects.
  • Build highly available and fault-tolerant enterprise infrastructure using multi-region and multi-AZ models.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including specifications, designs, procedures, and logs.
  • Document all processes, system changes, fixes, and issues to maintain transparency and traceability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in cloud migrations with high proficiency in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, focusing on Azure.
  • Strong operational experience or working knowledge of cloud identity and access management solutions, enforcing security guidelines.
  • Expertise in using Configuration Management and Orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, PHP).
  • Experience improving security posture through assessments and analyses with tools like Ansible and Prisma.
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using tools like Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Ensure secure design principles are embedded throughout the cloud architecture.
  • Implement least privilege access controls and monitor security events.
  • Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and maintain compliance.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Intune for device management, configuration, and security.
  • Proven experience leading teams, cross-training, mentoring, and supporting team members.
  • Improve the resilience of cloud applications and infrastructure, ensuring HA, DR, and Data Protection requirements are met for each workload.
  • Deep knowledge of networking topologies and engineering, including DNS, Load Balancers, Gateway Devices, and Web Application Firewalls.
  • In-depth understanding of Azure networking services, including Azure Virtual WAN, VNETs, Azure Application/Network Security Groups, Private Link, VNET Peering, Routing, ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, and Point-to-Site VPN.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure security and IAM, Role-Based Access Controls, Azure Policy, and Management Groups and Subscriptions.
  • Familiarity with AWS architecture and services (EC2, IAM, S3, ELB/ALB, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, ECS/EKS).
  • Experience automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.
  • Expertise in cloud-specific monitoring tools and products.
  • Experience with CMK (Customer Managed Keys) and BYOK (Bring Your Own Key).
  • Experience with AWS Workspaces (VDI), Azure VDI, and custom image creation.
