Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Engineer with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure to join our IT Engineering Team. This role is crucial as it involves working closely with various teams including Infrastructure, Network, Operations, Security, and Application Engineers and Developers. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining production and development environments in a 24/7/365 global setting. Reporting directly to the IT Engineering Manager, the Cloud Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecting, designing, deploying, and managing Azure IaaS deployment infrastructure. This includes automating configurations and deployments using scripts to ensure a consistent setup across various environments. The role also requires implementing and enforcing security best practices, such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), private endpoint connections, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) roles. Continuous research and staying updated with cloud advancements are essential, as the Cloud Engineer will be expected to suggest improvements and updates to the existing setup. In addition to Azure IaaS, the Cloud Engineer will also be involved in architecting, designing, and deploying Azure SaaS and PaaS services and solutions. Cost management of Azure services is another critical responsibility, which includes implementing a tagging strategy for cloud resources and assets to support cost rebilling, reporting, and compliance. The role will also involve planning and migrating existing workloads into Azure, as well as designing, building, upgrading, and decommissioning various Windows and Linux systems and services. The Cloud Engineer will need to automate the delivery of Azure and VMware services and respond to monitoring alerts regarding any health issues within these environments. Effective communication with third-party suppliers and support providers is necessary to ensure that issues and solutions are addressed within expected service levels. Furthermore, the Cloud Engineer will provide training and act as a point of escalation for the Service Desk and supporting team members, while also recommending changes to existing policies and procedures as needed.
