About the position

The Azure Cloud Engineer position is a critical role that focuses on managing and optimizing the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong proficiency in cloud solutions, security, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including the provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, security, and governance of cloud environments. The Azure Cloud Engineer will be tasked with ensuring that the cloud infrastructure operates at optimal performance levels while adhering to security and compliance standards. In this position, the engineer will manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, ensuring that all resources are provisioned and configured correctly. They will also be responsible for monitoring cloud resources to optimize performance and capacity. A significant aspect of the role involves developing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Azure CLI, and Ansible, which allows for consistent and automated deployments across the cloud infrastructure. The Azure Cloud Engineer will enforce security and access controls for all cloud-based solutions, ensuring that data protection best practices are followed. Collaboration with teams on application cloud adoption and modernization efforts will be essential, as will analyzing and enhancing operational standards, processes, and governance to improve efficiency. The engineer will also handle technical escalations and provide resolutions for cloud-related issues, ensuring that all infrastructure components adhere to performance, capacity, and security standards. Additionally, the role supports Agile development practices within the organization, contributing to a dynamic and responsive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance.
• Provision, configure, and monitor cloud resources while optimizing performance and capacity.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Azure CLI, and Ansible for consistent and automated deployments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Azure, including design, deployment, configuration, and optimization.
• Proven experience with IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions.
• Solid background in designing and operating medium to large-scale enterprise infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure CLI, and Ansible.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting.
• Proficient with GIT for source code management.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and related CI/CD tooling.
• Strong knowledge of networking, systems administration, data protection, and information security.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
