About the position

The Azure Cloud Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in optimizing and managing Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring smooth operations and high performance. This role involves collaboration with data center staff, OIT, and application administrators to deploy, configure, and maintain Azure resources while focusing on security and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize processes for efficient use of Microsoft Azure resources.
• Analyze Azure resource performance and recommend changes for optimization.
• Perform Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) identity management tasks.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with data center staff, OIT, and users for Azure resource deployments and upgrades.
• Assist application owners in managing Azure application access.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows and Linux server issues.
• Write and execute PowerShell scripts for server monitoring and Azure management.
• Administer and secure Azure infrastructure for users and staff.
• Create schedules for developing and implementing software systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Windows server administration experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure or other Cloud platforms.
• 3+ years of Linux server administration experience.
• Experience administering Windows Server 2016 or newer.
• 5+ years of experience with Active Directory and DNS administration in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience in writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts.
• Experience working in virtual server or Cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience installing and supporting third-party applications.
• Proven experience managing projects with large, distributed user bases.
• Experience developing schedules for multiple projects.
• Familiarity with technical programming teams and data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

• IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management Foundations certification.
• Agile or Scrum-based Project Management certification.
