About the position

The Azure Cloud Engineer role at IBM involves managing and implementing cloud platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies. The position requires strong skills in infrastructure, networking, and automation, with a focus on providing tier 2 and tier 3 support. The Cloud Engineer will work within the Hybrid Cloud Services team to ensure quality service delivery to clients, utilizing devops methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for cloud and application support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement cloud platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support for cloud application environments.
  • Collaborate with customers and application owners to ensure quality of service.
  • Utilize devops methodologies to manage CI/CD pipelines for cloud support.
  • Implement and monitor Azure cloud native components such as Networking, Firewalls, and Load Balancers.
  • Deploy and configure Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring.
  • Perform upgrades and configure automated patching for Virtual Machines.

Requirements

  • Experience managing cloud platforms utilizing devsecops methodologies.
  • Experience solutioning, implementing, and providing support for Azure cloud application environments.
  • Strong understanding of Azure cloud native components such as Networking, Firewalls, and Security Groups.
  • Experience with automation for deploying Azure Resources and Services.
  • Experience implementing and managing identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks within Azure.
  • Experience deploying and configuring Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Familiarity with third-party firewall solutions such as Palo Altos and Fortinets.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with IT service management best practices.
