About the position

Peraton is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. This role involves modernizing legacy networks, applications, and databases, providing IT Operations and Maintenance, and supporting Digital Transformation efforts. The Azure Cloud Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise Azure Cloud capabilities, ensuring integration with various teams and compliance with security guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise Azure Cloud capabilities in Microsoft Azure Government and Microsoft Azure Commercial.
  • Manage Infrastructure - Network, Compute, and Storage within Azure.
  • Implement Cloud Management, Monitoring, and Security solutions.
  • Integrate Identity Management with Okta.
  • Oversee Cost and Resource Management within Azure.
  • Support the development of Azure capabilities for Disaster Recovery of domestic and overseas systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Security teams to align solutions with Federal and DOS security guidelines.
  • Develop automation solutions within Azure.
  • Facilitate Transition to Operations activities, including training Operational personnel on Azure services.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and active SECRET Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • At least two years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining Azure solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and following Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, including automation, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and continuous integration methodologies.
  • Experience in FedRAMP approved MAC and/or MAG environments.
  • Ability to problem-solve individually or with team members.
  • Experience with customer-facing efforts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four or more years hands-on experience with production Azure environments.
  • Experience deploying Oracle/SQL databases and DDVE to Azure.
  • Advanced Azure Technical Certifications.
  • Experience at Department of State.
