About the position

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team in Washington for a contract position lasting 10 months. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, specifically with Microsoft Azure, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that meet the needs of our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, security, and best practices in cloud deployment and management. The Azure Cloud Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure. In this position, you will be tasked with developing cloud strategies and architectures that align with our business goals. You will also be responsible for migrating existing applications to the Azure platform, optimizing cloud resources for performance and cost, and implementing security measures to protect our data and applications. The role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud services, as well as providing support and guidance to other team members on cloud-related projects. The Azure Cloud Engineer will also be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud technology and Azure services, and to recommend improvements and enhancements to our cloud infrastructure. This is a dynamic role that requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and best practices.
  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
