About the position

The Azure Cloud Engineer role is focused on managing and maintaining the technical architecture of Microsoft Cloud Azure, Data Lake, and related systems. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of the IT organization and providing technical support to users in Hartford, Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all facets of our Technical Architecture, including Microsoft Cloud Azure, Data Lake, and LAN/WAN.
• Provide technical support to users, addressing their concerns and inquiries efficiently.
• Maintain and manage our technical infrastructure including workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and servers.
• Develop and implement technical solutions to enhance productivity.
• Handle new user and termination requests through Office365.
• Collaborate with other technical Architects, Database, and Environment Management teams.
• Utilize tools like SharePoint, Power Automate, and PowerApps to design online applications.
• Apply your understanding of EDI to manage other areas within the IT organization.
• Leverage skills in Ansible, Atlassian Jira, Auto Scaling, API Development, Automation, AWS Technologies, Backup Technologies, Cluster Analysis, and Terraform.
• Analyze problems within the IT system and recommend effective solutions.
• Manage diagramming of all aspects of our Technical Architecture, including hardware, software, and telecommunications.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Azure Cloud Platform is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with Ansible for software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment.
• Experience with Atlassian Jira for tracking and managing software development projects.
• Understanding of Auto Scaling to maintain application availability and manage costs.
• Expertise in API Development to enable communication between software systems.
• Experience with Automation tools and techniques to reduce manual intervention in processes.
• Knowledge of AWS Technologies is a plus.
• Proficiency in Backup Technologies to protect and recover data.
• Experience with Cluster Analysis for exploring data and identifying structures.
• Familiarity with Terraform for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure.
