Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Engineer with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure to join our IT Engineering Team. This role is pivotal in architecting, designing, deploying, and managing Azure IaaS deployment infrastructure, ensuring that it aligns with best practices and meets the requirements of our diverse client base. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with other teams, including Infrastructure, Network, Operations, Security, and Application Engineers, as well as Developers, to implement, monitor, and maintain production and development environments in a 24/7/365 global setting. This position reports directly to the IT Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating configurations and deployments using scripts, thereby ensuring a consistent and streamlined setup across various environments. Security is a top priority, and the Cloud Engineer will implement and enforce best practices such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), private endpoint connections, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) roles. Continuous research and staying updated with cloud advancements will be essential, as the engineer will be expected to suggest improvements and updates to the existing setup. In addition to managing Azure IaaS, the Cloud Engineer will also architect, design, and deploy secured Azure Landing Zones with segmented deployment groups, manage Azure SaaS and PaaS services, and oversee cost management of Azure services. This includes implementing a tagging strategy for cloud resources and assets to support cost rebilling, reporting, and compliance. The role also involves planning and migrating existing workloads into Azure, designing and building various Windows and Linux systems, and automating the delivery of Azure and VMware services. The Cloud Engineer will respond to monitoring alerts regarding health issues within the Azure and VMware environments and liaise effectively with third-party suppliers to ensure service levels are met. Training and acting as a point of escalation for the Service Desk and supporting team members will also be part of the responsibilities.
