About the position

The Azure Cloud Lead System Administrator at Syneren Technologies Corporation is a critical role responsible for the administration, architecture, and management of the cloud infrastructure. This position ensures that systems are secure, scalable, and resilient, while leading a team of Systems and Database Administrators. The role involves significant hands-on work with Azure Government Cloud, including migration, design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT Infrastructure team of Systems and Database Administrators.
  • Lead the efforts to prepare and migrate on-Prem VMware Windows environment to the Secured Azure Government Cloud.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of Azure cloud solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with industry standards.
  • Proactively manage, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Ensure all systems are up to date with patches and all vulnerabilities are remediated according to Agency policies.
  • Ensure all DOD STIG are reviewed, and new systems are properly hardened before deployment.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues and serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems.
  • Work closely with IT, DevOps, and development teams to integrate and optimize solutions across different environments.
  • Create routine and ad-hoc reports on the Azure infrastructure, system performance and security postures.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for system enhancements or optimizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Azure Government cloud administration.
  • Expert on DoD Patch Management and Vulnerability Remediation (Process and Tools).
  • Expertise in Azure services (e.g., VMs, Azure AD, networking, security groups, etc.), scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI), and infrastructure as code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Candidate will need to be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • IAT II Certifications IAW DoD (CompTIA Security+ or SSCP) and other accepted security-related certs for DoD IAT Level 2.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT related field such as MIS, Computer Science.
