About the position

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Manager to lead our cloud infrastructure initiatives for a key customer. This role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based solutions, specifically utilizing Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing and will be responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of our Azure infrastructure while collaborating with stakeholders to align cloud strategies with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, highly available Azure cloud solutions tailored to the organization's needs.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources, ensuring efficient utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align cloud strategies with business objectives.
  • Implement automation tools and processes to streamline cloud operations and workflows.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud documentation and best practices.
  • Stay current on the latest Azure technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new solutions as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and GitHub.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of database management in cloud environments.
