About the position

The Azure Cloud Manager will lead cloud infrastructure initiatives for a key customer, focusing on the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. This role requires a strong background in cloud computing and aims to ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of the Azure infrastructure while fostering a culture of innovation within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, highly available Azure cloud solutions tailored to the organization's needs.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources, ensuring efficient utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align cloud strategies with business objectives.
  • Implement automation tools and processes to streamline cloud operations and workflows.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud documentation and best practices.
  • Stay current on the latest Azure technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new solutions as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and GitHub.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of database management in cloud environments.
