About the position

H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking an Azure Cloud Manager to join our current contract supporting Marine Forces Reserve HQ located in New Orleans, LA. The Azure Cloud Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to computer, storage, network, and security. The focus of this work includes designing architecture for integrating core infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise applications, performing risk assessments of existing and new technology deployments, and recommending, implementing, and monitoring security auditing and alerting solutions. The Azure Cloud Manager will also monitor cloud and on-premise resources to verify integrity and availability, troubleshoot operational issues, escalate as appropriate, and offer solutions. Collaboration with application development, network/security, and infrastructure teams is essential to ensure seamless integration within the production environment, including validation planning, validation testing coordination, and reporting production readiness for deployment. Establishing standards, tools, and processes to be used by the team and creating procedures to guarantee adherence and compliance to those standards is a key responsibility. Additionally, the Azure Cloud Manager will develop, document, and understand internal IT processes and procedures, utilize automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar, and ensure timely resolution of issues while communicating with all impacted parties regarding the status and resolution of all issues. Keeping current on new technologies and advancements in current technologies is also a critical aspect of this role, along with assisting with special projects or other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers and notify them of impending changes or agreed outages.
  • Keep current on new technologies and advancements in current technologies.
  • Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a relevant field with at least three years of relevant experience, or High School diploma/GED with at least five years of full-time or equivalent part-time, professional, relevant experience and training required, of which at least three years must have been work directly related to the duties/responsibilities as outlined.
  • IAT Level II certification Required.
  • 3+ years of active, hands-on experience in Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
  • 2 years of experience actively implementing cloud solutions and using Azure services.
  • Archive and maintain professional IT certifications, such as Microsoft MCSA or MCSE, HPE ASE or Master ASE, VMware VCP, Fortinet NSE.

Nice-to-haves

  • Microsoft Cloud+ certification preferred.
  • Experience working with Team-Based Practices, e.g., Agile, Kanban Etc.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to follow standard change management processes.
  • Document and evaluate the impact of required changes to the various systems.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate changes to be implemented.
  • Ability to understand and follow sometimes complex oral and written instructions.
  • Experience utilizing tools and research abilities to resolve technical issues.
