About the position

Waters Corporation is seeking an Azure CloudOps Engineer to join the IT Cloud Operations team. This role is primarily focused on Azure infrastructure provisioning and automation, with a key responsibility for leading infrastructure as code (IaC) initiatives. The Engineer will leverage cloud technologies to configure resilient and scalable applications, ensuring zero downtime. Collaboration with various stakeholders is essential to gather requirements and implement advanced cloud capabilities, enhancing customer experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud technologies and a passion for delivering and supporting cloud applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, configure, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy, configure, secure, and monitor Azure services using tools like Terraform or Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Collaborate with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements.
  • Set up metrics, logging, and monitoring systems on the Azure platform.
  • Handle incident management, change management, and access management in ServiceNow.
  • Optimize Azure/cloud resources for cost, security, scalability, and high availability.
  • Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
  • Perform off-hours maintenance and support of the platform as needed.
  • Implement automation to improve workflow, efficiency, productivity, and technology deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in building and maintaining Azure infrastructure or AWS cloud platforms.
  • Experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining services for metrics, logging, and monitoring of the platform.
  • Hands-on automation creation experience with proficiency in one or more - PowerShell, Linux/Bash Shell, Terraform, JSON, and YAML.
  • Good understanding of securing Azure environments and meeting compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and leading infrastructure with Terraform.
  • Ability to learn/use various open-source technologies and tools.
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cloud experiences in AWS or GCP would be a plus.
