About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer role focuses on creating, designing, developing, and managing CI/CD pipelines within the Azure framework, specifically tailored for the public sector. This position requires a strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to enhance and streamline DevSecOps processes and tools. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all work products meet user acceptance criteria and will manage self-directed assignments while adhering to schedule deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality in deliverables. As a trusted advisor for automation and tooling initiatives, the engineer will provide practical insights and recommendations to improve DevSecOps practices. This includes implementing industry standards and ensuring that security practices are integrated into automated pipelines. The role requires an active DoD Security Clearance of Secret or higher, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in DevSecOps, with a minimum of three years specifically in Azure and DevSecOps environments, as well as experience in application and operating system security. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and various CI/CD tools is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create, design, develop, and manage DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy, GitLab, Nexus, etc.
  • Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Ensure work product meets user acceptance criteria.
  • Manage self-directed assignments and meet schedule deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
  • Act as a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevSecOps initiatives, providing objective and relevant insights.
  • Recommend and implement industry standards for DevSecOps practices.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to security practices within automated pipelines.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Security Clearance of Secret or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of DevSecOps experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Azure and DevSecOps environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with application and operating system security.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, Kanban, Scrumban.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience creating CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Helm.
  • Experience with YAML and Groovy.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Groovy, GitLab, Nexus, SonarQube, Fortify, OSCAP, Anchore, and testing frameworks such as JUnit/TestNG/Mockito.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in one or more cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
  • Knowledge and experience working in DoD Azure environments.
