About the position

The Azure Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of cloud-based applications and services on Microsoft Azure. This role involves designing, deploying, and optimizing Azure solutions while adhering to federal IT regulatory compliance. The SRE will also focus on automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting to enhance operational efficiency and support the organization's cloud strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize cloud-based applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
• Prepare technical documentation for cloud solutions and processes.
• Implement automation and scripting to improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with federal IT regulations and standards.
• Monitor application performance using Azure Monitor and other third-party solutions.
• Manage on-prem to Azure infrastructure migration projects.
• Build Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including design, deployment, configuration, and optimization.
• Experience preparing technical documentation.
• Expert troubleshooting skills in cloud environments.
• Federal IT regulatory compliance experience.
• Azure experience and/or Azure certification.
• Sec+ or equivalent cyber security experience, including operational zero trust knowledge.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud networking.
• Familiarity with cloud native (Azure Monitor) and third-party monitoring solutions.
• Experience with MSFT Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, and other Azure services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of PowerShell and/or Python for automation.
