About the position

SAIC is seeking an Azure Cloud Software Developer and Engineer to join the Cloud One Operations and Sustainment Team. This role involves the architecture design, automation, management, and oversight of Azure environments to support the Cloud One Common Computing Environment program for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. The position is fully remote and focuses on enhancing operational efficiencies and supporting the migration of applications to a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, sustain, and maintain Azure environments and topologies.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers during support and projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to users.
  • Perform routine operations including troubleshooting and resolving Tier 3 help desk tickets, performance monitoring, server monitoring, and log monitoring.
  • Deploy software packages to the Cloud One Integration, Test, and Production environments.
  • Address security findings and vulnerabilities by developing, testing, and deploying configuration changes.
  • Provide integration support to developers.
  • Perform activities for patch releases including configuration changes, required documentation, and approvals.
  • Develop code in Ansible, Terraform, and Powershell for infrastructure automation and orchestration.
  • Develop and test configurations to address performance issues and reduce operational costs.
  • Create and update documentation related to the maintenance and support of the Cloud Common Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a Master's degree with no experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • Security + or higher certification.
  • Knowledge of deployments for Azure cloud systems.
  • Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
  • Task automation and virtualization through containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Terraform, Powershell, and/or Ansible.

Nice-to-haves

  • Azure or SAFe DevOps certification.
  • Experience supporting USAF or USA software development projects.
  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or other IT company.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Jenkins, Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Apache Velocity, HTML, Tomcat Application Server, Oracle 11g, Oracle SQL, Git, Maven, Node/npm.
  • Experience with Azure services like Active Directory, Data Factory, Cosmos DB, Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Azure Function, Azure Policy, Federation Services.
