About the position

SAIC is seeking an Azure Cloud Software Developer and Engineer to join the Cloud One Operations and Sustainment Team, focusing on Impact Level 2/4/5. This role involves being part of a dedicated team responsible for the architecture design, planning, automation, management, support, and oversight of the Cloud One Azure environments. The Azure Cloud Software Developer and Engineer will support the Cloud One Common Computing Environment (CCE) program under the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Network Integration (AFLCMC/HNI). Cloud One is a global, interconnected, virtualized, hybrid IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Army (USA). This initiative incorporates capabilities from commercial cloud and Managed Service Providers (MSP) residing in Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). The Cloud One program facilitates the migration of applications to a cloud environment, supporting the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) and enhancing efficiencies across the USAF and USA's IT operations. This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, sustain, and maintain Azure environments and topologies.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling, and process inefficiencies.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers during support and projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to users.
  • Perform routine operations including troubleshooting and resolving Tier 3 help desk tickets, performance monitoring, server monitoring, and log monitoring.
  • Deploy software packages to the Cloud One Integration, Test, and Production environments, including supporting regression and other testing for the Cloud Common Services.
  • Address security findings and vulnerabilities by developing, testing, and deploying configuration changes.
  • Provide integration support to developers.
  • Perform activities for patch releases including configuration changes, required documentation, and approvals.
  • Develop code in Ansible, Terraform, and Powershell for infrastructure automation and orchestration to support deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of the Cloud Common Services.
  • Develop and test configurations to address performance issues and reduce operational costs.
  • Develop and update Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision and support Cloud One Infrastructure.
  • Create and update documentation related to the maintenance and support of the Cloud Common Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years or more experience; Master's degree and zero (0) years of experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start; ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Security + or higher certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Azure or SAFe DevOps certification.
  • Experience supporting USAF or USA software development projects.
  • Experience in an MSP or other IT company highly desirable.
  • Experience with technologies such as Jenkins, Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Apache Velocity, HTML (responsive for Live Portal), Tomcat Application Server, Oracle 11g, Oracle SQL - materialized views, SSH, Git (source control), Maven (build), Node/npm (building front-end).
  • Experience with Active Directory, Data Factory, Cosmos DB, Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Azure Function, Azure Policy, Federation Services (ADFS).
