About the position

Zolon is seeking an Azure Cloud Support Engineer to join our Cloud/Infrastructure team in Washington, DC. This position is part of a 5-year program with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where we provide Software Development, Maintenance, and Support. The Azure Cloud Support Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining the Azure cloud environment, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to managing cloud infrastructure and a commitment to meeting service level agreements and performance targets. In this position, you will be responsible for configuring, deploying, and managing infrastructure in Azure. You will also be tasked with setting up and managing Azure cloud operational tools to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and guidelines. A strong proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage is essential. Additionally, you will develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with architects and product owners to develop and maintain the application portfolio roadmap and backlog. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects from initiation to completion. Implementing and maintaining security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and data encryption, will be a critical part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will create and maintain detailed documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and procedures, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed. Staying current with Azure updates and best practices is vital, as you will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in cloud infrastructure and operations. Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Azure cloud environment, support, and operations.
  • Configure, deploy and manage infrastructure in Azure.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain an HHS Tier 4 Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Working knowledge of Azure and Cloud Computing concepts.
  • Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar certifications preferred.
