About the position

The Azure Core Technical Architect at Microsoft Corporation's Chicago Innovation Hub is a pivotal role focused on guiding enterprise customers through their digital transformation journeys using Azure infrastructure technologies. This position involves being a trusted advisor, shaping infrastructure strategies, and collaborating with various solution architects to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs. The role emphasizes technical expertise in Azure services and the ability to inspire and implement a comprehensive digital vision for clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer engagements by preparing and conducting technical sessions, workshops, and hackathons for enterprise customers.
• Design solutions using technical knowledge and architectural skills to influence customer decisions in favor of Microsoft solutions.
• Set a vision for customers by showcasing an inspiring digital transformation strategy across Microsoft workloads.
• Build a strategy that maps customer visions into actionable implementation plans, addressing concerns and validating business cases.
• Serve as the go-to technical expert in Azure infrastructure, focusing on Data Center Migration, Networking, Backup/Recovery, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and Security.
• Guide business and technical decision-makers on leveraging Azure for business value, synthesizing architecture requirements, and demonstrating the Azure operations platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy, Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure, Azure Arc, Azure Active Directory, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Functions.

Nice-to-haves

• Structured facilitator with validated customer experience in requirements capture and prioritization.
• Intermediate level experience across the full range of Microsoft Azure cloud solutions including infrastructure, developer, data, AI, business applications, and security.
• Proven experience in design thinking and problem framing.
• Comprehensive understanding of Azure security, identity, and networking, with experience in managing large Azure deployments.
