About the position

As an Azure Data Architect, Lead, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how organizations manage their data in today's digital landscape. Your expertise will be crucial in designing data architecture solutions that enhance cloud computing and storage capabilities, facilitate platform partnerships, and enable self-service reporting. This position is centered around delivering innovative solutions for Veteran's Affairs, where your analytical mindset and creative thinking will be essential in managing data assets effectively. In this role, you will leverage your extensive technical knowledge to resolve routine data architecture challenges in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams. You will work closely with business partners to develop user stories and contribute to the development of data warehousing solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing databases, building data models, conducting ETL processes, and managing data warehouse applications, all while optimizing cloud computing resources. You will be part of a high-performing, self-organizing team that is dedicated to designing, defining, developing, and testing cloud solution components. Your problem-solving skills will be put to the test as you work alongside clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered efficiently. With a focus on establishing processes and leading technological innovation, you will have a lasting impact on the client's Data and Analytics Product Line. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design data architecture solutions for cloud computing and storage.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and technology teams to resolve data architecture issues.
  • Develop user stories in partnership with business partners.
  • Design databases and build data models for data warehousing.
  • Conduct ETL processes and manage data warehouse applications.
  • Optimize cloud computing resources and ensure efficient operations.
  • Work as part of a self-organizing Scrum team to define, develop, and test cloud solution components.
  • Problem solve in real time alongside business partners and developers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with cloud-based data architecture and data warehousing.
  • 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership in a Microsoft Azure environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Synapse or Databricks.
  • Experience working as part of a highly technical, high functioning, fast-paced Scrum team.
  • Experience with technical leadership, including problem solving, best practices, and optimization in a multi-cloud platform environment.
  • Ability to problem solve in real time and propose solutions rapidly.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing and optimizing with Oracle Cloud Instance (OCI) Golden Gate.
  • Knowledge of Agile project management within Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to work alongside multiple business partners to develop user stories.
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Certified Professional Certification.
