About the position

Infosys is seeking an Azure Data Engineer who will play a pivotal role in leading critical modules within the Data Engineering program. This position involves working directly with clients to manage various aspects of data engineering, including metadata management, data cataloging, data quality assurance, and the implementation of processes and workflows. The role also encompasses reporting and delivery responsibilities, ensuring that data solutions meet client needs effectively. The project location for this role is Bellevue, WA, and candidates must either be located within commuting distance or be willing to relocate. The position may also require travel across the United States and Canada, depending on project needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Information Technology, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines on Azure. This includes utilizing services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Analysis Services, as well as Azure Databricks, Synapse, or Fabric. The Azure Data Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting performance issues, identifying root causes, and applying necessary fixes to ensure optimal data flow and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead critical modules in the Data Engineering program.
  • Manage metadata, data catalog, and data quality processes.
  • Define and implement processes and workflows for data engineering.
  • Oversee reporting and delivery of data solutions to clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects using Azure DevOps.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and apply fixes as needed.
  • Design and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines on Azure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • At least 2 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines on Azure.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Analysis Services, or Azure Databricks/Synapse/Fabric.
  • Experience in data platforms with a multi-layered approach and design/architecture setup.
  • At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting performance issues and applying fixes.
  • At least 2 years of experience in SQL.
  • Ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to collaborate with data scientists and analysts for data availability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and independently with business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL tools such as Erwin, Talend, DataStage.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead large complex projects with limited direction.
