About the position

The Azure Data Engineer 2 role focuses on analyzing, designing, and developing enterprise data and information architecture deliverables. The position emphasizes the importance of data as an asset for the enterprise and involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including 84.51. The engineer will be responsible for creating scalable cloud-based solutions, particularly in Azure, and will work on building data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and develop enterprise data and information architecture deliverables.
• Collaborate with 84.51 and other stakeholders to deliver valuable data and information.
• Design and build scalable cloud-based solution architectures in Azure.
• Create lakehouses and real-time streaming analytics platforms using Azure services.
• Build data lakes and data warehouses to support operational and business intelligence.
• Work with serverless computing and Azure Functions.
• Utilize Azure services such as Cosmos DB, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
• Implement monitoring and alerting techniques and APM tools.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD processes.
• Drive digital innovation by leveraging new technologies to transform core data assets.
• Mentor team members in data principles and practices.
• Draft and review architectural diagrams and design documents.
• Create data pipelines for various streaming use cases.

Requirements

• Expertise in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Azure services and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time analytics.
• Familiarity with Kafka and event streaming mechanisms.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting techniques.
• Knowledge of IT security practices and infrastructure.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

• Azure certifications at Associate and Expert levels for Data Services.
• Familiarity with building AI/ML solutions.
• Experience with Databricks.
