As a Cloud Data Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and development of cloud-enabled, DevOps, multi-platform, and cross-functional applications that solve complex business problems. The role will be a highly visible hands-on technology driver supporting platform product development by creating innovative solutions, as well as driving solutions that modernize, stabilize, and support the growth of our portfolio. You will interact with the Agile Release Team (ART), senior Business and IT Leaders, and IT partners, providing technical support throughout the Agile lifecycle. The focus will include solution design, development, CICD, automation, security assessment and resolution, and performance tuning. Data enablement through multiple data stores, supporting different kinds of analytical use cases to be able to derive predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive insights. You will engage with multiple concurrent teams and provide governance to ensure that standards and best practices are followed. As part of a Scaled Agile scrum team, you will develop modern cloud-native and on-prem applications within our Compensation and Producer management ART of MetLife Holdings portfolio. You will lead the technical design, development, and integration of solutions using existing and emerging data platforms. This includes hands-on development and setup of data pipelines, databases, and data sources to build ML and AI applications. You should have an appetite to learn new technologies and be ready to work on new cutting-edge cloud technologies. Your hands-on development will focus on application transformation, modernization, site reliability, containerization, and building data pipelines and ETL solutions in cloud-native technologies. You will participate in fit/gap analysis of requirements, help manage feature deliverables, provide tactical and strategic options to address production issues, and develop code as per modern standards. Additionally, you will mentor, motivate, influence, and coach the broader technical team to help push best practices and understanding of modern design and development practices.
