About the position

The Azure Data Engineer at Avanade is responsible for the architecture, design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade analytics solutions utilizing Azure and Databricks technologies. This role involves working closely with high-profile clients to understand their requirements and present tailored solutions, while also leading small development teams and mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Architecture, design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade analytics solutions based on Azure and Databricks technologies.
• Working directly with high-profile clients across various sectors to understand their requirements and present solutions to customer sponsors.
• Constantly developing technical skills in the latest Azure and Databricks technologies, achieving and maintaining relevant certifications.

Requirements

• Demonstrable end-to-end experience in Data Engineering, including large-scale projects.
• Experience in working with the latest Azure technologies such as Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen 2), and Cosmos DB.
• Understanding of software engineering tools and concepts, including experience in Python, Scala, or PySpark.
• Confident communicator who can explain technical terms to non-technical audiences and mentor junior colleagues.
• Ability to lead small development teams, track work, manage assignments, and manage capacity.
