About the position

The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the Data and Analytics team of a leading automotive repair and replacement firm. This position focuses on automating manual processes, producing data-driven insights, and managing data consumption and governance. The ideal candidate will have a business-centric approach to data analysis and governance, contributing to both operational success and long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects to automate manual processes and produce data-driven insights.
  • Manage Data Consumption and Data Governance areas of the organization.
  • Contribute to data and application governance initiatives by designing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence developers/analysts and business teams to improve data models that feed Power BI.
  • Increase data accessibility across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience with ETL processing and building data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of data migration, data warehousing, and data architecture.
  • Experience in data modeling.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Python.
  • Knowledge of stored procedures (views, functions, triggers).
  • Familiarity with PowerBI or other BI tools.
  • Understanding of enterprise data governance and management.
  • Experience with data science tooling and statistical modeling.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Great Plains, and GAAP.
