About the position

As an Azure Data Engineer at Capgemini, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing data solutions that leverage the power of Azure cloud services. This position is based in Newark, NJ, and requires a deep understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts. You will be responsible for managing cloud-based data migrations and ensuring the integrity and security of data across various platforms. Your expertise in database management, particularly with MSSQL, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse, will be essential in this role. You will also be tasked with implementing security measures for lakehouses and data warehouses, utilizing techniques such as Row-Level Security (RLS), Column-Level Security (CLS), and Object-Level Security (OLS). Your experience with ETL tools, including SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI Dataflow, will be critical in streamlining data processes. Additionally, you will leverage tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, and GIT for source control, ensuring that data solutions are robust and maintainable. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of data engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on building data and analytics platforms using Azure solutions. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Pyspark is required, along with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, where you will have implemented significant initiatives and built semantic models leveraging Direct Lake query mode. Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with cloud-based data migration
  • Database management experience (MSSQL, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse)
  • Leveraged and implemented Shortcuts across workspaces to aggregate the data between different sources
  • Implemented different types of security for lakehouses and data warehouses (RLS/CLS/OLS)
  • ETL tool experience (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Power BI Dataflow)
  • Bitbucket / Jenkins / GIT Integration using Azure Repos for Source Control

Requirements

  • 10+ years of data engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience in building data and analytics platform focused on Azure data and analytics solutions
  • 5+ years of programming experience in Python/Pyspark
  • Experience in Microsoft Fabric with at least 2 major initiatives implemented
  • Built multiple semantic models in Fabric leveraging Direct Lake query mode
  • Experience in Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Notebooks
