About the position

The Azure Data Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust Power BI Semantic Model, enhancing data analytics capabilities through Databricks and DBT. The position requires expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Azure technologies to ensure optimal performance and user experience in data reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable and efficient Power BI Semantic Model aligned with business requirements.
• Ensure the Semantic Model delivers optimal performance and enhances the user experience.
• Write and optimize complex DAX queries to create calculated columns, measures, and tables.
• Ensure DAX calculations are efficient and support the reporting framework requirements.
• Utilize Databricks Lakehouse to manage large data volumes efficiently.
• Implement data processing workflows in Azure Databricks for seamless Power BI integration.
• Use DBT for data transformation and modeling within the data pipeline.
• Implement custom visuals and integrate APIs to extend Power BI functionality.
• Develop advanced analytics, including predictive analytics and machine learning models within Power BI.
• Assist in developing interactive dashboards and reports based on the Semantic Model.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of the Semantic Model, DAX queries, and data pipelines.

Requirements

• Expertise in SQL, Databricks Lakehouse, Azure Databricks, and DBT.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Proven experience with Power BI, including Semantic Model development and DAX.
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
