About the position

The Azure Data Engineer role is focused on designing and implementing data solutions that enable clients to make informed, data-driven decisions. This position involves working with various data sources, developing data warehouse architectures, and creating data pipelines and services to support analytics and reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, and effective communication to address complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design and set up projects that integrate information from various sources for analysis and decision-making.
  • Plan and deliver data warehouse and storage solutions.
  • Design and run bespoke data services for individual projects.
  • Develop, adapt, and maintain data warehouse architecture and relational databases for data mining.
  • Customize storage, extraction, metadata, and information repositories.
  • Create and implement effective metrics and monitoring processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot issues.
  • Build modern data pipelines, data streams, and APIs for data services.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, data generators, and other information resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience as an Azure Data Engineer or in a similar role in a technology or IT consulting environment.
  • Experience performing data engineering, warehousing, publishing, and visualization throughout the full data lifecycle for at least five years.
  • Experience defining ETA architecture and ETL process design for at least five years.
  • End-to-end implementation experience of data warehousing analytics solutions built on MS or Azure platforms for at least five years.
  • At least one year of experience working with Azure.
  • Experience using DPM specific tooling including Spark, Python, Databricks, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and/or Azure Data for at least four years.
  • Five years of client stakeholder management experience.
  • Five years of production readiness planning for deployment.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or Healthcare applications of data platform technologies for at least four years.
