About the position

As an Azure Data Platform Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of the Azure data and analytics platform, ensuring smooth operations, uptime, and performance. This role involves supporting various teams and stakeholders, managing data pipelines, and maintaining documentation while providing technical support for database and BI developers.

Responsibilities

• Perform administration of Azure data and analytics platform including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, and Azure ML/AI.
• Ensure smooth and secure operations of the Azure data and analytics platform.
• Oversee data warehouse and analytics platform from implementation to ongoing operations.
• Manage Azure data pipelines, job schedules, and systems for performance and uptime.
• Maintain up-to-date platform documentation and provide technical support to developers.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for data warehouse and BI platform on Azure.
• Ensure metadata tracking for all data objects in the platform.
• Conduct system monitoring and performance analysis.
• Perform ongoing security controls audit and review for compliance.
• Review system application logs to identify potential issues and improvements.
• Participate in capacity planning, cloud cost analysis, and resource optimization.
• Provide after-hour system and application support.
• Develop and implement work plans for various projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a MS SQL Server administrator or cloud administrator.
• Experience with investment management systems and processes.
• Experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, SQL Server (SSIS and SSAS), and Power BI.
• Knowledge of infrastructure (operating system and networking) and cloud administration.
• Knowledge of data access control/security models.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps (such as GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy), or ML Ops.
• Azure certifications related to data.
• Experience with Agile methodologies in cloud, database, data warehousing, and BI.
• BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
