About the position

The DevOps Engineer for Governance as a Service will play a crucial role in driving multi-cloud governance initiatives, primarily focusing on Azure while also exploring AWS capabilities. This position involves collaborating with experienced engineers to establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring that cloud environments are secure, compliant, and efficient through the use of Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated policy enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Provision, configure, and deploy cloud policies and resources using Terraform and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement and maintain Azure-based governance policies to ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the development of multi-cloud governance strategies, particularly exploring AWS capabilities.
  • Integrate policy-as-code checks into CI/CD pipelines to prevent non-compliant resources from reaching production.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and platform teams to define and enforce cloud governance guidelines.
  • Document policies, procedures, and technical configurations for internal teams.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address governance-related incidents and restore compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles with a strong security and compliance orientation.
  • 3+ years working with Azure cloud services and enforcing cloud governance policies.
  • Proficiency in DevOps/Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
  • Foundational knowledge of AWS cloud services.
  • Understanding of policy-as-code concepts, cloud security standards, and compliance frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one Azure or AWS certification, e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C01).
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization tools such as Apptio or CloudSaver.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration.
