About the position

The Azure Platform Service Lead is responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Tokio Marine HCC's public cloud platform for Azure. This role focuses on enabling business teams to enhance cloud capabilities, supporting cloud adoption, and ensuring the platform's security, reliability, and cost efficiency. The position requires extensive collaboration with various stakeholders to implement cloud-native solutions that align with the company's growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly interface with business teams, architects, and Hyper Scaler teams to understand requirements and provide guidance.
  • Capture and share cloud knowledge across stakeholders as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Azure hyperscaler.
  • Plan and coordinate platform delivery and dependencies across multiple business teams.
  • Implement security guardrails per mandated policies and benchmarks, ensuring compliance transparency.
  • Realize a least privileges model for public cloud access.
  • Implement real-time network monitoring and alerting for the cloud platform.
  • Provide centralized logging for the cloud platform.
  • Reconcile and allocate 100% of monthly public cloud bills, improving transparency and achieving cost savings in partnership with business teams.
  • Promote cloud-native serverless architectures and ensure global availability of the cloud platform in minutes.
  • Automate the cloud platform and all team-initiated changes/operations as code, refining operational procedures frequently.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and automate Azure landing zones.
  • Proven expertise in FinOps practices, including resource tagging and cloud financial management.
  • Robust understanding of various cloud application architectures.
  • Experience implementing advanced security and compliance guardrails/controls in Azure.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing Azure policies for governance of security, compliance, cost, and operations.
  • Experience in Azure hub-spoke network architectures and management of DNS zones.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) projects and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Full-time development experience in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
  • Hands-on experience with developing Azure Functions and integrating REST APIs for automation.

  • Azure Expert level certifications.
  • HashiCorp Terraform certification.
  • Experience in designing and developing integrated solutions involving process, data, and technology.
  • Technical leadership skills and experience with Lean Agile principles.
