About the position

The Azure SQL Server DBA role involves managing and optimizing SQL Server databases hosted on Azure. The position requires expertise in planning, implementing, and securing data platforms, as well as monitoring and configuring database resources to ensure optimal performance. The DBA will also be responsible for handling production issues and ensuring data integrity through effective backup and restore practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement data platform for SQL Server Azure instances.
• Enable security implementation across databases and servers in each environment.
• Monitor, configure, and optimize database resources in Azure.
• Plan and maintain High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions.
• Handle production issues that require immediate attention.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization services.
• Optimize Common Table Expressions (CTEs), stored procedures, and views.
• Update DBA configurations and tune for a stable environment in production, UAT, and lower environments.
• Manage backup and restore processes in a real production environment.

Requirements

• Experience with planning and implementing SQL Server Azure instances.
• Knowledge of security implementation for databases and servers.
• Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing database resources in Azure.
• Experience with High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR) solutions.
• Ability to handle production issues under stress.
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning and optimization services.
• Expertise in T-SQL scripting and related tools.
• Experience in updating DBA configurations for stable environments.
• Hands-on experience with backup and restore in production environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with PL-SQL development.
