About the position

The Azure System Administrator position is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud environments, specifically within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This position is designed for individuals who possess extensive experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on planning, architectural design, engineering, maintenance, support, and optimization of systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and troubleshooting servers and storage area networks, as well as configuring and administering hypervisors. This role demands effective communication skills, as the administrator will interact with department staff and vendors to ensure seamless operations and support. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining Microsoft Azure computing resources and services, ensuring that all systems are running optimally and securely. You will also be tasked with configuring Azure monitor, Log Analytics, and Alerts to proactively manage the cloud environment. The position requires a hands-on approach to modernizing applications, which may involve containerization using Docker and Kubernetes. Additionally, you will be expected to deploy and maintain both Linux and Windows Server operating systems, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and functioning as intended. This is an onsite work position, emphasizing the need for collaboration and direct engagement with the team and infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of completing data center cloud migration projects and will be well-versed in the features and capabilities of the Microsoft Cloud Platform (Azure).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot servers and storage area networks.
  • Configure and administer hypervisors.
  • Manage Microsoft Azure computing resources and services.
  • Configure Azure monitor, Log Analytics, and Alerts.
  • Modernize applications by containerizing using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Deploy and maintain Linux Server OS.
  • Deploy and maintain Windows Server OS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator and Microsoft Azure Architect Certification.
  • 15+ years of IT work experience in infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with department staff and vendors.
  • Experience with on-premises and cloud environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining VMware ESXI clusters.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Storage Area Networks.
  • Successful completion of Data Center cloud migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of features and capabilities of the Microsoft Cloud Platform (Azure).
  • Experience maintaining Microsoft Azure computing resources and services.
